Joint Personnel Spray Several Roads in North Jakarta

Joint personnel from the North Jakarta City Government's Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) have again sprayed water (water mist) on several main roads. This activity is being carried out to mitigate the impact of volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.

Head of North Jakarta Satpol PP, Budhy Novian said this activity is a form of rapid response and real work by the government in addressing environmental conditions due to exposure to volcanic ash.

"This activity shows the role of the government, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), demonstrating our presence and commitment to providing a concrete response and action. We have been carrying out this movement continuously from Sunday, Monday, and today," he said, Tuesday (9/8).

He explained that in addition to spraying water at social and public facilities, personnel also distributed masks to the public and road users. This measure was taken to minimize the risk of respiratory problems caused by exposure to volcanic ash.

The spraying route included Jalan Yos Sudarso from the Tanjung Priok area to Kelapa Gading, Jalan Gunung Sahari in Pademangan, Jalan Raya Pluit in Penjaringan, as well as a number of other main roads in the North Jakarta area.

"We hope these efforts will provide tangible benefits so residents can continue to feel safe and comfortable. The public is also urged to remain calm but vigilant in their activities," he appealed.

According to him, the North Jakarta City Government will continue to strengthen coordination and synergy with all parties to provide a rapid response to developing conditions on the ground.
